Grilled Chicken

Hot grilled chicken drumettes or wings are one of our favorite foods at home, especially for our son. When he was a teenager at home, grilled chicken was his favorite snack after school every day. You can have them as appetizers, party food, or make a complete meal of them for dinner. Left overs are great for an after-school snack.

Grilling chicken wings is really the best way to prepare them.  Grilled wings are less greasy, have a nice outdoor-smoky flavor, and are much easier to clean up!  However, if you don’t have a grill (or the inclination to go outside because of the weather), you can also cook these in the oven on a baking sheet.

Ingredients

  • 12 Chicken Wings or Drumettes
  • Lemon Pepper Seasoning
  • PAM Grill Spray

Directions

If necessary, take the chicken wings out of the freezer and thaw for several hours.

Turn on the grill and let it preheat for at least 10 minutes on high heat.

Place the wings in a large bowl, sprinkle with several tablespoons of the lemon-pepper seasoning, and toss the wings with your hands, making sure all surfaces of the wings get seasoned.  Repeat until you are satisfied with how much seasoning is on the wings. Let the wings sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

Spray the grill with the PAM. Put the wings on the grill, cover the grill and let the wings cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Turn down the heat as necessary if the wings brown up too fast. Flip them over, recover, and cook the other side another 5 to 10 more minutes.   The flip them again twice and cook the uncooked sides. Keep flipping them until they are done – around 25-40 minutes total. Ready to eat – don’t burn your fingers!

Enjoy
